MEET SARA SKOLASKI

Real estate is about
more than the house.

It is about people, transitions, community, and finding the place where the next part of your life gets to happen.

HER STORY

A career built
around people.

Sara’s path to real estate did not begin with houses. It began with people.

Before becoming a real estate broker, Sara spent years in education, including special education. It was work centered around listening carefully, understanding individual needs, solving problems, and helping people move forward with confidence.

After more than a decade in education, Sara took a leap into entrepreneurship. In 2016, she founded The Spot, beginning as a mobile coffee shop and becoming part of the Greater Peoria small-business community.

The business became about far more than coffee. It created connections with local businesses, community events, fundraisers and people from across the Peoria area. That same emphasis on relationships would eventually become part of Sara’s approach to real estate.

“
We just want to show people kindness.

A philosophy Sara shared during her years building The Spot — and one that still says a lot about how she approaches people today.

THE JOURNEY

Different chapters.
The same purpose.

01
2001 — 2005

Bradley University

Sara attended Bradley University in Peoria, establishing roots in a community that would continue to shape her professional life.

02
EDUCATION

Twelve years of teaching

Sara spent approximately twelve years in education, including work as a special education teacher. Those years helped shape her patient, attentive and people-first approach.

03
2016

The Spot Coffee

Sara took the leap into entrepreneurship and launched The Spot as a mobile coffee business, building something rooted in community, local partnerships and connection.

04
REAL ESTATE

A new way to serve

By 2021, Sara had entered real estate — bringing together the communication skills of an educator, the resourcefulness of an entrepreneur and years of connection to Greater Peoria.

WHY REAL ESTATE

Helping people move
into their next chapter.

Buying or selling a home can be exciting, emotional, overwhelming — and sometimes all three at once. Sara believes her role is not to pressure someone into making a decision. It is to help them understand their options clearly enough to make the right one.

That means answering the extra question. Looking at the detail someone else might miss. Being honest when something does not feel right. And staying present from the first conversation through closing day.

“The goal is not simply to complete a transaction. It is to make sure you feel informed, supported and confident about what comes next.”

THE SARA APPROACH

What working together
should feel like.

01

Listen first.

Every client has a different reason for moving, a different timeline and a different definition of the right home. Sara starts there.

02

Communicate clearly.

Questions should get answers. Clients should know what is happening and why. No unnecessary mystery, pressure or real estate jargon.

03

Think locally.

Peoria is not one market. Its neighborhoods and surrounding communities each have their own rhythm, housing stock and personality.

04

Advocate for you.

From pricing and negotiations to inspections and closing, Sara approaches the process with her client’s interests at the center.

LOCAL MEANS SOMETHING

More than knowing
the market.

Sara’s connection to Greater Peoria stretches beyond real estate. She has studied here, taught here, built a business here, partnered with local organizations and spent years getting to know the people who make Central Illinois feel like home.

That perspective matters when someone is deciding not simply which house to buy, but which community feels right for the life they are building.

LET'S START WITH A CONVERSATION

Wherever you are
in the process, start there.

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether the move is happening next month, next year, or is still just an idea, Sara is happy to help you understand what comes next.
